We feel that there must be some accountability as to our good works files, recommended under the IRS 14 Points. Under the direction of our former president this was not happening and we venture to say that such is not apparent with any of the other large ULC sites. None of the major ULC sites are tax exempt. Churches claiming to be “authorized-or-sanctioned”.. are simply required to rely on Modesto’s mixed up record keeping and pay a fee for the items sold. Waiting for Modesto to send to our newly ordained ministers confirmation of their ordination was too long of a process.
The Monastery being the largest ULC congregation in the world has stepped up to the plate to show leadership. Leadership by example and accountability because we know that we can do better.
We have the same legal standing as any religious institution in America. We issue Ordination Certificates and notarized Letters of Good Standing to all ministers in our data banks which date back to 2004. Thus, any request designated for Modesto, we continue to forward if we do not have a record of such.
In closing, we need your prayers. We know where we are going and we think if you decide to leave and fellowship somewhere else…God’s speed, but do drop by from time to time as we know you will. The first national campaign is in the works. It is our hope that you’ll remember this day that we met on our journey to Jericho.
